Description: Join local naturalist and Earth educator Hope Corbin for an immersive, hands-on workshop exploring the art of herbal infusion and decoction. The experience begins with a guided plant walk through McKinney Meadow, where you’ll learn to identify common medicinal plants and practice mindful, sustainable foraging techniques.

After gathering plants, you’ll transition into a practical medicine-making session, learning how to properly process fresh and dried herbs. Hope will guide you through the differences between infusions and decoctions—when to use each method, how to prepare them, and the unique benefits they offer. You’ll also gain an introduction to other herbal preparation techniques, expanding your toolkit for working with plant medicine at home.

This workshop is perfect for beginners and anyone curious about herbalism, offering a grounded, approachable way to connect with plants you can find in your own backyard and create your own herbal medicines.

What to bring: Comfortable walking shoes, sun protection, weather appropriate clothing, anything else needed to be outside for a few hours, rain or shine.

Walk Level: Easy meander, with grassy and rocky terrain, including uneven ground

FREE & OPEN TO ALL. Registration is Required. Space is Limited to 15 participants.
