Join the Highlands-Cashiers Land Trust (HCLT) for a fascinating mushroom walk at Dixon Woods Park. Led by knowledgeable HCLT staff, this guided hike invites nature lovers of all ages to step into the mysterious and beautiful world of fungi.
Wander through the shaded trails of Dixon Woods Park as we search for mushrooms and other fungi, learning about their vital role in forest ecosystems. From colorful caps to intricate mycelium networks, you’ll discover just how much life thrives beneath the surface of the forest floor. Whether you're a curious beginner or a seasoned mushroom enthusiast, this hike offers something for everyone.
Walk Level: Around 2 miles round trip, considered easy to moderate.
What to Bring: Water, comfortable hiking shoes, a rain jacket and curiosity! Optional: field guides, hand lens, and a camera.
