Join Highlands‑Cashiers Land Trust for  a deeply restorative Sunset Forest Bathing experience on Satulah Mountain, guided by Dr. Mark Ellison, a certified forest therapy expert. This gentle, slow-paced walk invites you to unplug and immerse yourself in the forest using your senses.

Dr. Ellison, founder of Pinnacle Forest Therapy and one of North Carolina’s leading Shinrin-yoku guides, will offer mindful “invitations”—brief pauses to notice and connect—ending with a peaceful tea ceremony as dusk settles.

These practices are backed by science: forest bathing helps reduce stress, lower blood pressure, boost immune function, and enhance mood and focus.

The walk covers a modest path with gentle elevation—no hiking experience required, just curiosity and a willingness to slow down. Please bring comfortable shoes, layers for the evening chill, and water. Join us for this sunset journey into stillness, senses, and forest connection—a soulful way to end the day atop Satulah Mountain.
